A family fun day out at Baddesley Clinton

Baddesley Clinton, or now affectionately known as our new home! I have always fancied a house with a moat, It suits my slightly anti-social side perfectly but also says look at me and bad-ass house… IT HAS A MOAT!!

This National Trust property is located in Warwickshire and is really quite special.

The house itself for a NT property is fairly low key which just adds to its charm. Don’t get me wrong though, the inside is grand with its fancy fireplaces and wood paneled rooms but it has a cosy, homely feel about it. Rob certainly looked at home in front of a grand fireplace with a full wall tapestry as a backdrop.

We both agreed it was somewhere we could happily live. Now if anyone has some money they’d like to donate to our new home purchase, at least a couple of million should help!

The history of the house is really interesting, especially the gruesome tale of murder, including a blood stained floor, just make sure you get a guide to give you the whole story as it is enough to give you nightmares!

The gardens were simple and suited the property. The wooded area offered plenty of places for the children to play and explore. It was caterpillars hanging from the trees that captured their interest here. The mass of friendly ducks also made for a fun picnic, who knew that they’d like wotsits so much.

At £31.50 for a family ticket, I feel it was a little on the pricey side for what is available but using our passes, I am glad we visited.

Packwood house is very close by and if we didn’t have a holiday to pack for we probably would have done both. They also provide a map for those who would like to walk from one to the other. I hope we will return to do the walk next time.
