I am excited to share my first Christmas gift guide today, this one is fun for the whole family.
We are big game players in this house so I want to share our favourites for you to enjoy together. Game playing is a great way for the family to spend their time together. Certainly given the need for us to be at home more often.
During the first Lockdown, our games were on a constant rotation and it ensured quality time together.
Here are our top choices for you to enjoy.
Christmas gift guide for the whole family to enjoy
Frozen Unicorns*
I have shared this on my blog before but it is a game that I have been very vocal about, recommending to just about everyone!
It’s the perfect way to spend Christmas afternoon and fun for all ages. It has already been well loved in our house this year. I can’t wait to watch the positions ‘Bompa’ gets himself in!

Dobble*
This fast, frantic game is so much fun and will leave you all tongue tied! The idea is similar to snap but each card has 8 images on.
For the basic game of spot, reveal one card, then another. Whoever spots the symbol in common on both cards claims the first card, then another card is revealed for players to search, and so on. Whoever has the most cards at the end is the winner.
The pressure you feel when you play is it’s USP in my opinion. Who knew finding a matching picture could be so hard.

Uno*
Uno is a classic card for up to 10 people (No more than 6 though remember!) The fight is on to get rid of your cards. If you’re anything like our family though, it can get pretty competitive and a bit nasty. All for the good of the game of course!
We like to mix it up and alter the amount of cards each person has, It can really alter the game.
There are lots of alternative sets of Uno to purchase now as well, meaning more fun to be had.

Yahtzee *
This is a game I have been playing for many many years and I love it. The game can be played with the family or even alone.
The idea of this dice based game is to try and score the highest by rolling your dice and selecting the dice combination that will give you the highest points. The ultimate result in this game is Yahtzee (The louder you shout it the better!) which is 5 matching numbers on the dice.
This game can be enjoyed by anyone who is able to count really!

Soundiculous*
This brilliant find comes courtesy of Gamely Games. Again they bring something a little different to the game playing family.
Like Frozen Unicorns, this game is all about being interactive and putting yourself out there! This time its all about making the most ridiculous noises you can while the other players try to guess what noise you are making.
One of the big rules that makes the game SO much harder is that the person making the noise can not use their hands. Doesn’t sound too difficult does it? Well you’re wrong! I didn’t realise just how much I would want to use my hands while trying to make a noise for people to guess.
We had so much fun with this game and I love how every player has their own interpretation of sounds. It really does mean the fun will never end. At ยฃ12.99 it will pay for itself in giggles, I promise you!

Give the gift of family fun this year, for your own family or anyone else’s. Let’s encourage good old fashioned fun!
Have you played any of these games before or do you fancy getting your hands on them this Christmas?

Gotta love a bit of Dobble!
It is so much fun. I keep eyeing the Harry Potter one up, think I am going to have to get it x
I absolutely love Uno, but it’s been ages since I played Yahtzee and Dobble. I definitely need to rebuy those. Great guide!

Yayyy gift guide! I can’t wait to read ALL the gift guides this year! I love the sound of some of these games. Although we’re a house of 4 adults haha! We always try and find new games to play each year – mostly trivia based games. We can all get pretty competitive! Some fab ideas here! xxxx
I didn’t know how competitive any of us were until we started weekly game nights. It can get pretty intense, I might have had the odd strop!

Uno takes me back to when I was a kid, I used to love that game, we had the machine which made all the cards fly out! Also Yahtzee is a game that I love, I hate it when I can’t get a Yahtzee! x

Oh the illusive Yahtzee! It’s a killer! My Mum was a pro at it, I stopped playing it with her!
It’s been years since I played Yahtzee, I’d forgotten all about that one! And UNO is a constant in our family – Flora absolutely adores thrashing both Alan and me each and every time, haha. Fab picks, Claire, perfect family games ๐ xx

Uno is a classic, but it’s so much fun! Have you seen that they came out with an updated version with new cards and more rules? I hadn’t heard anything about it until my mother brought it out for us to play while we were camping. We were all in tears laughing – it was so much fun!
Yes I did, I think I might have to get one of them this year so we can really mix it up a bit x
