Since our house renovations were completed, I’ve spent a lot of time looking for unique wall art that will compliment our home.
When Photowall contacted me about trying out one of their prints, I knew exactly where I wanted to hang a picture. We have a large space above our bed in the newly converted attic room. As it is such a large area, finding something just right was never going to be easy.

Knowing your style
When it comes to style, Rob and I differ so much. He is very artistic himself and most of the artwork in our house has been created by him.
For our new bedroom though we couldn’t quite agree on what we wanted. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love a motivational quote.
My previous house was covered in them and that love is starting to spread in this home to. Rob has been very accommodating as it is would not be his first choice!
When we began searching Photowall for the exact image we wanted, we knew it would be tricky. I gravitated towards the motivational quotes or overly pretty girlie prints. Rob on the other hand was looking at the nature images. He has a real love of lone trees or pretty countryside images.
While I can’t argue that these are absolutely stunning, I wasn’t sure if I could look at a beautiful summer scene in the middle of winter, or vice versa!
It took us well over a week to decide on something. If I am honest, I really thought I would end up choosing something that Rob wanted because let’s be honest, It would be easier in the long run!
Using Photowall
What I loved about Photowall was the huge amount of choice available. We had already decided we wanted a canvas but most of their images are available in poster form or even as wallpaper.
The website was easy to use and beautifully shot. Every piece of artwork was displayed with clear images of how it would look in different rooms. It really brings the image alive and despite it not being your own room, allows you to imagine it in place.
Going a step further, when looking at Canvas prints as we were, you were able to view this in 3D. You can also use this function to move the image around. Allowing you to change the size, drag the image to where you want it to appear and change to various different edging. We were even able to alter the picture orientation and crop the image to our personal preference.
This really made it much easier for us to finally pick what we wanted.
Our canvas arrives
The parcel arrived by courier just 48 hours later. Rob was home to take delivery and under strict instructions to NOT open it until I was home! I couldn’t believe how quickly it arrived given that we’d customised the size of of the canvas we wanted.
Now I won’t pretend I wasn’t a little bit scared when I processed our order and it said self assembly! But I needn’t have been worried.
We set an hour aside to read the instructions and put the canvas together. I am not lying when I say that we were done in less than 10 minutes!
It really was that simple to put together. The instructions are clear and simple to follow, plus there is a quick video tutorial to watch which really simplifies it, if you need it.
Then comes the time to hang the picture. Again this could not be more simple to do. One wall plug, a screw and a hook. It took us longer to measure out where we wanted it then it did to hang.

I am so excited to share with you just how incredible the image we chose looks. It compliments the room perfectly and captures a bit of us both.
So to explain our choice. Obviously I mentioned my love of quotes. What I didn’t mention was Rob’s love of Lord of the Rings. This quote features in the book so that is a box ticked for each of us. The colour match to our bedroom is another criteria checked off and the geometric look that Rob has used in his own artwork really confirmed this was the perfect canvas for us.

I am defo in the market for some new wall art for my house. I used to love lots on the wall and recently I’ve gone the other way. I like canvas prints but not too too many. I like black and white photographs too!
