I had my first Air bnb encounter last August in Cumbria and I was pleasantly surprised. I was not 100% comfortable staying in a stranger’s house but the host could not have been more accommodating. I was completely won over by this concept and couldn’t wait to get booked again.
Rob and I had our first ‘Romantic getaway’ in January for his birthday, this was a beautiful little hideout in the Cotswolds. It was a self-contained cottage in the grounds of someone’s house and just a few minutes’ walk from Bourton on the water, which even on a cold January day is beautiful. The accommodation was everything we could need and more. Log fire, fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, an outside area and conservatory. It was the perfect place to unwind and that’s just what we did.
Our most recent Air BnB adventure took us to the beautiful Congleton. Our static caravan awaited us. Now in terms of location we could not have asked for better, the views were spectacular, plenty of space and the only noise around was that of nature, and there are definitely worse noises to be disturbed by.
The caravan itself was pretty basic, and I was a little disappointed, but we made the most of it and with the weather on our side it made for a perfect little weekend home.
I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to book a caravan again, but with an upcoming camping trip maybe I’ll be begging for the comfort a caravan could offer.
We hope to book another Bnb to extend our camping trip but I already have another trip booked to the peaks again with one of my best friends for a girlie weekend. We hope to walk the day away and drink the night away. Win win I’d say!
