I have said it before but it is definitely snuggle season now, and every day I can’t wait to close the doors, turn down the lights and enjoy some sofa time with my man.
This does mean that it is time to find some decent Television to watch. So here is what I am watching this Autumn.
With my last TV related post, we were given some great recommendations so this seemed like a great place to start.
Mindhunter
This was heavily recommended so you can imagine my disappointment when I watched the first episode and could barely keep my eyes open. Rob wasn’t keen either but wanted to give it another try. I’d already given up on it so I was ready to pay little attention.
10 minutes in to episode 2 and I was hooked. It has turned out to be a great series, keeps the anticipation building, has some brilliant character interactions and is generally really cool!
My advice would be stick with it, don’t let the disappointing, fairly monotone first episode of this Netflix series put you off. You will be rewarded for your patience!

American Horror Story- 1984
Like cheesy slasher style movies? Love the 80’s? Want to laugh at terrible facial hair?
If you answered yes to any of the above then you need to give this a watch. I’ll be the first to say that I feel AHS has lost its way over the last few series and I am not sure if this is going anyway to save itself but if you want an easy, kind of stupid series that will have you bursting in to song thanks to it’s 80’s soundtrack, then this is the series for you.
It’s available to watch on Sky or NowTv.

Late to the dinner party…
I really don’t like following the crowd. I’d much rather wait until the crowd has dispersed and there are just the bones of a TV show to pick apart!
Step in.. Downton Abbey! See I was really late.
We quickly got in to this as our Sunday evening viewing. But if I am completely honest, I have NO idea what I like about it.
Yes there is a touch of class and elegance to the show of course, but is it just me that feels the stories build up to almost come to nothing and there is so many characters to dislike. I do heart Lord Grantham though!
We will keep watching because it is harmless fun and I think that is maybe the reason for its popularity.

*I am a little scared that I am going to get lynched by Downton supporters*
Downton is currently available to watch on Sky and NowTv.
I love you, Now you die.
This 2 part documentary on Sky Crime was well worth a watch.
The story of two virtual lovers starts off in a fairly innocent way but soon a sinister story is revealed. I won’t give too much away but I would recommend if you’re a fan of real life crime stuff.
I constantly flipped from one side to another up until the judge was half way through delivering his verdict and I think he made the correct decision.
Give it a go!
Made in no shame
My names Claire and I am a Made in Chelsea fan. Despite the fact that on the whole it is completely scripted to make these rich kids seem spoilt, selfish and the worst kind of friends imaginable, I can’t help but love it.
In particular Jamie Lang, I am always willing him to change his way and stop his cheating and lying but he is just so damn loveable!

Bear Grylls – Treasure Island
I have been a fan of this show for a while now but I loved the idea of adding money to the mix.
It was fascinating to see what the chance of finding £100k can do to the dynamics of this group that have been thrown together for all walks of life.
A social experiment which really did make you ask yourself ‘What would I do if I found £30k?’
We watched as ex Marine Marco and Lord Mountbatten found £35k and decided to hide this from the other islanders. We saw others who were determined to find the money but share their winnings with everyone.
It was great viewing, especially as they pulled together to survive in such a harsh environment.
We watched this on channel 4 catch up.

Motherland
If you have not watched Motherland on BBC yet, I urge you to get it on.
If you have ever had to deal with the school run and the parents at the gates, this is the show for you. Plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout both series. We all know a Mum like one of the characters, which just makes it even funnier.

Birdbox
Again why would I watch this while everyone is raving about it? Much better to wait it out until know one cares about it anymore just so I can include it in a blog round up, right?
Despite how much it was talked about, I really didn’t know what this was going to be about.
I loved it! Proper edge of your seat stuff and Sandra Bullock was brilliant… Yes I have a bit of a girl crush!
If you like to be just a little heart racingly scared, this could be the film for you.
Only available on Netflix.

Catastrophe
What is there not to love about two strangers meeting, getting pregnant and slowly falling in love?
We have only got as far as series 2 but I am really enjoying a little light relieve in between the more serious television choices!
You can catch up on all series on this on channel 4 Catch up.
BoJack Horseman
I have fought this one long and hard. Rob has raved about it since we met. I just didn’t get it, or want to. But he watches it while I am blogging and slowly it has worked its magic on me.
It’s like Marmite, you’ll love it or hate it but chances are you’ll find yourself laughing begrudgingly.
Just don’t tell Rob!
You can watch this on Netflix.

And for now that’s us. I write this and think god we watch a lot of TV but in honesty we watch an hour a night and save the weekends for films. I do love to completely switch off in front of the telly.
Do you watch more TV over the Autumn? What are you currently watching and what would you recommend we check out next?

Mindhunter sounds fascinating! Would watch if I had Netflix (which I consciously decided against, or it’d be a black hole I never emerge from!!)
I watched the first episode of Midhunter and gave up, now that I’ve read this, I have to watch it again.
I am currently watching Modern family, I haven’t watched it before 😀
Wow that’s a lot to keep up with!
I have head mindhunter is good- might have to get into that one!
It is well worth it, especially past the first episode x x

Those are some great recommendations. Motherland is in my list, now I definitely have to watch it.
I recently started rewatching Bo-jack. I had no idea that AHS had a new season!!! OMG I’m buzzin!
I really need to get back into American Horror Story. I watched the first three series and loved it. Birdbox is definitely one to watch. My son also read the book and said it was even better (especially if you like the gory stuff)!
Oh I might have to give the book a go then x
I agree, Definitely snuggle season, I can’t wait for us to get our woodburner going soon. Weve just finished watching suits so am on the look out for a new series, I always find it takes time to settle into a new one though so good to get some recommendations.
OHhhh ,…. I needed to see this list! I am always looking for new shows. Thanks for making this list
Enjoy x x
I can’t believe how much rubbish is on the main channels these days! I ended up watching Rocky last night because I couldn’t cope with Family Guy or a sales channel pushing face cream! Downton gets my thumbs up – perfect for the snuggle season … with candles, chocolates and a blanket!
I REALLY need to get into American Horror story! I’ve read so many good things about it!
It’s well worth a watch, especially the earlier ones x
I’m loving AHS 1984. It’s such a good series and I love the soundtrack too
It makes me feel very nostalgic x
I loved Downton Abbey! I would say it gets better…
We will stick with it then x
I relate so strongly to waiting til the crowd disperses on a popular movie/show before I get into it (I’m talking years later though, so you’re doing better than me!) Good news, it means there’s lots more people to talk about it with!
Also, I’ve never watched anything AHS related before but I’ve been meaning to. I was sold at cheesy!
Hahaha cheesy 80’s is the ultimate!
Some great suggestions! I’ll have to give Mindhunter another try, I also watched the first episode and was super disappointed so gave up… think I’ll try again this evening!
It definitely gets better, promise x
Haha I love this!! Claire, I am a made in Chelsea fan too and think Jamie is likeable lol xx
Oh yay! I’m so glad I’m not alone!
Is it bad that I’ve not watched a single one of these shows 😂🙈
Maybe I need to start getting my Netflix on!!!
I just probably watch to much tv!
I loved Birdbox! Did you read the book? If you haven’t I’d HIGHLY recommend it! I’m currently re-watching One Tree Hill, my favourite series EVER. And Carl and I are watching The Magicians on Amazon Prime x
No, I might have to add the book to my Christmas list.
How is the magicians? Worth watching?
Yes! The Magicians is fantastic!
Until earlier this year I had been without a TV for almost 6 years so had got out of the habit of watching, but I am watching a bit more these days, but me and my partner have such different styles so we need to be careful on what we watch together! He loves shows like Peaky Blinders and Colony (and I just like documentaries) but we are also both really late to the Downton party – I think I would like to watch it now as well! Bojack is so hilarious – I haven’t seen it in ages! I loved a bit of Bear back in the day too! I’m currently making my way through Money Heist – almost at the end! ♥
