This time last year I was writing our summer bucket list, but this year a bucket list didn’t really feel right. So instead I’m going to use this break to work on my Summer 2020 blogging bucket list.
What is a blogging bucket list?
Well it’s pretty simple really. It’s all the things I want to achieve over the summer that relate to my blog.
I’ve been off my game for too long now. I had all these ideas when lock down was announced that would involve lots of time for my blog.

I didn’t factor how tough working from home would be. By the time I was done each day the last thing I wanted to do was sit at my computer.
Now the holidays are here, I’m going to really use my time effectively and get organised.
I thought having a list of goals would help keep me focused.
The Ultimate Summer Blogging bucket list
- Write all content for July, August and September
- Plan content for October to December
- Work through Katie’s brand new guide to a successful blogmas
- Grow instagram following to 1000
- Reach 3000 followers on twitter
- Continue to focus on Pinterest using Boss girl bloggers pinterest guide
- Revisit and follow Jenny in Neverlands blogging Ebook
- Fix all broken links
- Work through all my posts and improve SEO
- Focus on how to make money online using Em’s ebook The ultimate guide to making money online (aff) Use code ‘claire’ to receive 30% off
- Update ALT image text
- Make sure all images are still in place – I lost a lot when I moved over to self hosted
- Get at least 2 sponsored posts between now and the end of the year
- Start working on ideas for next years content
- Increase DA to 15 by Christmas
- Keep my blog planner up to date and start next years
- Create 50-100 pins a week and schedule 10-15 daily

Blogging goals
I’m all for creating goals, I think it can really offer a focus.
But I’m terrible for making the time to really sit down and think about what I want to achieve.
Simply by putting this post together, I already feel energised and excited about what I could achieve in the next 6 weeks.
With the hope that this focus will remain in place, maybe I can get back to the place my blog was in this time last year.
Wish me luck!!
A summer holiday Bucket list
Simply because I am feeling so productive thanks to the above list, I thought I should add my other summer goals. More for a good old bum kick than anything else!
- Get out and walk each day
- Visit Cumbria
- Go to the Peak District
- Have a holiday of some kind
- WEAR A MASK!
What would be on your blogging bucket list? Is there anything else you think I should focus on?

Love this list! I know exactly what you mean, I had all these plans for over lockdown and none of them worked out – even with being furloughed!
Thank you so much for recommending my Blogmas Ebook and Planner though!
Thank you so much for creating it! I am loving it x x
Wow! I pay wish I was this organised. I definitely need to plan ahead on my blog content, so thanks for that particular bum kick!
Oh and you should definitely visit both Cumbria and the Peaks.
Sadly it’s looking more likely that we will be staying out given all the local lockdowns.
It actually is very uncommon for me to be this organised! It’s a great feeling and really motivating x
This is a great blogging bucket list, good luck with these goals!
Thank you x
Onto a great start and I’m sure you will achieve all in your bucket list. My organisation is shocking, write posts for one week, can’t seem to get organised or the time to do a month’s worth of posts in advance.
It is really hard, but I am feeling really focused, long may it last x
Great post! Wish I was anywhere near as organised with my blog!
It really has taken me a long time to get to this point x
I really want to have lots of content already written for August and September! It’s so hard to prioritize ☹️ Great blogging bucket list!
Thank you Amanda, it is hard but it’s nice to feel ahead of the game x
You’re so organised! Definitely inspiring and motivated me to up my game with some good ideas. It’s so important to keep feeling productive at the moment – especially with something like your blog which you’re passionate about
Thank you Ellie, it has been a long time coming and I am really enjoying it x
A must for me is to put more effort into promoting my content. I like writing it but am really bad at self promotion.
First steps are to get more Twitter and Pinterest presence.
It’s not easy but the more you put yourself out there, the better you become x x
This seems like a great idea – love the idea of a blogging bucket list. I’ll have to make my own!

Sounds like you’ve got some great goals during this time. Honestly, this whole lockdown has really inspired me to do a lot of work on the blogging end as well with almost everything else being cancelled… It’s nice to get a lot of those tasks done and off my ‘to-do’ list!
It’s a great feeling isn’t it?
These are great goals – I hope you manage to achieve them all! I love that you’re revisiting eBooks, I think that is so important! Good luck with all your goals, you’ve got this!
Em x
Thank you Em, never felt so motivated x x
Love the idea of a blogging bucket list to set out your goals! Some great ones here too, I hope you achieve them all 🥰
Thank you Katie x
These are a lot of things but really good suggestions for all bloggers, really! Thank you for sharing and I’m sure you’ll be able to accomplish all these 😊

Thank you Marissa x
Great list of aims. I’ve saved this to Pinterest to give me motivation!
This is so organised and some great goal ideas. Think im going to start setting myself blogging goals to organise myself better. Fab post 🥰
It has been so inspiring, really given me a kick up the bum x
I have always worked from home so I never thought the lock down would affect much but it definitely did. My motivation went out the window and I haven’t been able to do some of the posts I planned for which further threw me off but things are coming back now and I’m glad to see your feel remotivated as well!
Thank you Kristin. It has definitely been a difficult time for a lot of people. It can be hard to keep motivated when the world is upside down. I am glad things are picking up for you again x x
Plenty to work through there. I started setting blog goals in June, and it’s definitely made a big difference. My big August goals is to boost my wordpress followers numbers.

It’s a bit scary having your goals so public but it is a real incentive to push myself x
I love the idea of a summer blogging bucket list. This will surely keep you on track to getting all of these done before summer ends. Reading through your list, I noted a few tasks I need to work on as well.
I am glad you like it. It has definitely put a rocket up my bum having a set of goals out in the public domain x
I love your blogging bucket list.
This list has made me realise everything I need to work on, especially Pinterest. 10-15 a day is a really good target.
I need to be more consistent with my pinning too x
It is such hard work though! I really don’t like it but I love to see the traffic come from it x x
Best of luck with your summer blogging bucket list. How good is task batching? I love to be a few weeks ahead with my blog posts as well. It helps reduce my stress levels haha!
It is making life so much easier, I almost don’t need to think about it now x x
A worthwhile list! I have been fixing broken links, added some affiliate adverts and been working through SEO on old posts and adding Pins. I have noticed that my traffic has improved so it has been well worth the effort.
Great list! You’ll definitely smash all those goals. Before I go back to work in December I want to have got ahead with my blog posts, planned out Blogmas content and updated at least half of my old posts (which is a big job seen as I’ve been blogging for 9 years!)
Loving your goals and determination! I’m in a similar boat, I started turning my blogging and vlogging into a business 2 years ago and it is really hard work…especially with the backdrop of covid!
I’ve set myself some new goals this week, but actually to do a little less. I’m saying yes to everyone and everything because of my desire to grow my business….but it’s wearing me out!
So, my new goals are to rebook at my boundaries and try to separate myself a bit from work, and make more time for me!
I’m planning to do vlogmas this year, never done blogmas…. Wonder if l can do both……what did last say about boundaries….
Great post, good luck with your goals!
Taking a break is so necessary, I am glad you’re making time. I look forward to watching your vlogmas posts x x
Your bucket list is great and making it public is a good way to hold yourself accountable, I need to learn from you! Makes me realize how behind I am on my pins for Pinterest, I got to work on that heh.
Best of luck! I’m sure your hard work will pay off!

These are some great, achievable goals. I want to start thinking about winter posts too.
Seems a long way off yet but I love Christmas content x
Wow! Good luck with your blogging bucket list! That would be my list for the year 🤣🤣 I’m not organised or disciplined enough to achieve all that! I love the idea of doing a blogging bucket list though.
I love Jenny’s books. She’s just released a blogging course today that I purchased so I can’t wait to get stuck into that and see the results!
Good luck with your list, looking forward to hearing how you get on ❤️
I’ve purchased it too! I’m about 30% through and loving it!
I think I might have super stretched myself but here’s to giving it a good go!
Thank you x x
Great goals! Creating a blogging bucket list is a great idea. Right now, with the way things are, is a GREAT time to really focus on your blog! Thanks for mentioning my eBook too! <3
You’re most welcome! My list has grown alarmingly quickly since starting your course 😂

Beginning to wonder if I’ve over done it 😂😂
Is this the ultimate blogging bucket list or what? I admire you for the goals you have set for yourself. I wish you are able to accomplish them and still make the most of your summer. Cheering for you!
OMG! Good luck with all that! It sounds like a feat!
My blog is not a job so I don’t spend that much time and effort on it, it’s just a hobby, but clearly I have to learn from you, I could use a bit more organisation in my life xD
It’s hard work but I love it. I never have much time to dedicate it but I have 6 weeks off work over the summer so I have to make the most of it x
Great blog goals! I hope you reach them 🙂
Great list! You’ve inspired me to make my own. Thank you 🙂
It has really kept me focused x
I hope you’ll smash all your bucket list!
Your post also reminded me to create mine for August especially the blogging bucket list.
Thanks for sharing your bucket list, I’m not that prepared for the summer! I do hope do get my broken links fixed and grow my social media following 🙂

These are great goals! I need to check my broken links; it’s been a few months.
Oh it’s a job I really hate but worth while x
Wow, that’s a big list. I would love to get ahead with my posts.
Best of luck with these goals, Claire! I love how organised you are, I’m more of a write post that week type of blogger haha.
My summer blogging bucket list would have a lot of overlap with yours – I also want to reach 1000 followers on Instagram and work on my SEO but I also want to get my Pinterest back up and running.
Pinterest is HARD! I wish they’d stop playing with it so much!
Wow you are so organised. I need to start thinking about having lists of stuff I need to do.
I really enjoyed this helpful post to help stay organized with blogging! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, it has really helped keep me focused x
What a nice AND inspiring list – I can bet you more than just a few of us are motivated by this. Especially love that you remember to focus on personal social goals as well…after a weekend in the Peak district, you’ll be charged up & ready to smash more blogging goals 🙂
Thank you Simone! It has really kept me motivated x
I love reading posts like these that talk about goals! 🙂 I love how you made a bucket list relating to your blog. I know what you mean about being excited to work on blog activities – I feel the same! And reading your post reminds me to also think about Blogmas too. I’ve never done it before, but I’m keen to give it a try this year. Have you ever tried Blogmas? 🙂
Really inspiring stuff Claire xx
I’m going to Cumbria in 2 weeks I can’t wait! My goals for the month are to finish writing up August/September/October blog posts and also begin planning for November!
Zoey | http://www.zoeyolivia.com
Oh we are in Cumbria Tuesday/Wednesday next week. I hope you have a lovely time x
Wow, you are going to be busy. You put me to shame, there is so much I need to do, but I am just getting by at the moment! Mich x
That’s one hell of a list! Good luck xx
Thank you! I think I need it x x
Wow that’s an impressive list! I really want to grow my DA! I’m going to do a list and get motivated now .
It has really kept me focused this year x
Love the idea of this and I am definitely going to make one for myself for the rest of the year! Thanks for sharing! Ell
Thank you Ell, It has really kept me focused x
Great list!
Love this idea! Such a great list and good for motivation! I feel like I’m losing my blogging at the moment and need some motivation.
It’s so so hard, I hope your motivation returns x x
This is such a wonderful idea. With 2020 being the way it is, blogging turns out to be a wonderful escape. You inspired me to make my own bucket list for autumn, because I loved this idea so much. I hope you managed to achieve all your goals, and I can’t wait to see what your plans for autumn are <3
