Happy days Weeks 32 to 35

Well when I sat down to write this months Happy days post weeks 32 to 35, I realised that I had messed up my numbering. How difficult can it be to count weeks hey?? I am obviously just too busy enjoying my Happy days rather than remembering what week I am on!

So there is a little overlapping going on with some of my previous posts, but I am sure you can all forgive me for that right?

Week 32

Happy days week 32 to 35

This week was the start of my blogging focus! I created my blogging bucket list. It was time to get my head down and crack on with all I want to achieve over the summer.

It has been pretty full on and I have worked my butt off! I’ve put myself out there, applied for opportunities that I would normally have shied away from. I created content I am really proud of and planned content to the end of the year and it feels great.

I’ve also been working my way through a course which has filled me with confidence, I’ve been planning blogmas content and going back through old content and making it more SEO friendly.

This all resulted in a drop in DA…. If you need me, I’ll be crying in to my gin!

Week 33

Date night

This week saw us child free for the weekend which meant a time to chill out and a meal out together. Our first proper date night, out of the house surrounded by actual people!

It was lovely to go out and dress up, but also great to see how well social distancing is being handled in most places.

Week 34

This week saw us going a little old school. Kite flying on the biggest hill we could find.

The children (and adults) absolutely loved it. Something so simple bought so much joy. Even if we did get soaking wet in the rain. It was totally worth it and we are already itching to get out and do it again. We’ve even bought another new kite.

Week 35

Week 35 bought an adventure. A long over due few days away. The destination was Carlisle. A brief stop at Warrington, a MONSTER climb of Hadrian’s wall followed with dinner and a long walk around Carlisle.

Hadrian’s wall was amazing and in particular Sycamore Gap which you may recognise from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves! The day was one of those days though where we hadn’t really thought it through.

It was really wet on and off, we had unsuitable shoes on, and Rob and I were the smartest dressed walkers you’ve ever seen! While everyone was dressed in full walking gear, waterproofs and hiking gear…. We looked like this!

What the hell were we thinking???

Plus it was really high, very slippy and I was very scared. I did say that if it had started to rain I would have sat and cried!

F was in his element, photographing everything! Seems he has developed a real passion for it. Let’s see how long it lasts!

The following day we drove home via Kendall and started the CHRISTMAS shopping! Oh my goodness! As if pretty Kendall wasn’t enough excitement.

August roundup

It’s been a slow paced month which I have loved. Yes I have worked really hard on my blog but there has been much less in the way of running around, racing here and there. Although we have seen lots of friends and family this month.

It almost felt like a normal school holiday and it was a welcome feeling.

August is ending with us away in Skegness! Hence the earlier than normal post.

I hope August has been a good month for you and that you’re feeling ready for the new start that September brings with it.

What has been the highlight of August for you?

Spread the love

  1. I’m desperate to have some time to work on my blog. Lockdown has seen me lose my nursery day and just exhaust me. There’s hope in the form of pre school though. Hadrian’s wall sounds amazing. And I’m sure the celts and romans would’ve appreciated your sharp dressing.

  3. This was such a lovely read! It sounds like you’re having/had a really nice summer and it must have been lovely to be able to get out a little more. My highlight would be going self-hosted with the blog, but like you, I’ve found that things have just gone wrong and it’s not the journey I expected it to be. Still, it will get there, I’m sure. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.

I saw that you were going self hosted, it can be a nightmare but it will be completely worth it.

I’ve really enjoyed the little bit of freedom but I’m looking forward to snuggle season and avoiding corona throughout the colder months x x

  4. It’s so wonderful that you keep track of all the wonderful and happy things in your life. We all need more of that during this pandemic. I think I’ll start doing the same 🙂
