When it comes to creativity, it can take on so many wonderful forms, but how can a word spark your creativity?

Creative outlets

Quite often, someone will ask if I’m creative, my answer will be no. I am sure I’m not alone in doing this. It is easy to forget what being creative really means.

‘relating to or involving the use of the imagination or original ideas to create something’

This definition for me makes it quite clear that anything that involves using your imagination is creative.

From blog writing, to artwork, baking beautiful cakes to writing a book. All of this takes a huge amount of creative talent. Let’s stop selling ourselves short!

No matter how you choose to show off your creativity, inspiration is one of the most important elements to the process.

Word Prompts

Much like a journal prompt, a word prompt could be a great basis for getting creativity flowing. I love to journal and share the prompts that I use each month. These prompts are a lot of fun to put together and great fun to use.

But if you don’t journal, they may seem a little pointless. I wanted to find a way to inspire all. Whatever your outlet might be. After several people have used my previous prompts as the basis for blog posts, I realised that they did have the potential to encourage through other mediums.

That’s why this time, I have decided to go for a single word prompt. This leaves so much room for interpretation. We all have our own take on a certain word. They will mean something different to each of us. From a single word, the possibilities become endless.

Here are a list of some ways you could use them.

  • Writing
  • Journalling
  • Bullet Journalling
  • Cake Decoration
  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Blog post
  • Photography
  • A photo a day challenge
  • Social media posts
