My names Claire and I am obsessed with Christmas! I have been reading Christmas books since the end of August just so I could write about the 10 Christmas books you need to read this year. Aren’t I kind? I’ve read so much in the last few months that it is no surprise I am struggling to write blog posts!
So settle down, get cosy and festive on Blogmas day 11 day see what I recommend.
10 Christmas books you need to read this year
This has definitely been the year where a lot of us have found solace in a book. Now we are facing Christmas in Lockdown #whatever, a good Christmas book is essential.
I have really enjoyed working through these books and now I’m looking forward to sharing my top choices with you.
1. The Cosy Christmas chocolate shop – Caroline Roberts*
If you’re looking for a book that feels as cosy as you want to feel at this time of year, then this is it.
This book was so descriptive that I could place myself right in the story. Emma owns a Chocolate shop by the sea. The village reminded my of Saundersfoot in Wales which just made the story come alive. I was able to picture the whole village. It was the right amount of Christmas, romance and chocolate. Even in September, it was the perfect read to get me in the mood for Christmas.
2.A wedding on christmas street – IVY PEMBROKE*
Another wedding at Christmas related book this year. Of course, I am just a few days away from what would have been my wedding day! So of course I needed to torture myself a little bit.
This book was so lovely, It highlighted the importance of community and I DEFINITELY need to live on Christmas street.
3. Christmas Shopaholic – Sophie Kinsella*
Becky Bloomwood is back for her 312th edition (OK not quite!) and I am surprised it took so long to hit up Christmas. This self-confessed shopaholic+Christmas+a surprise visit from an ex = The perfect festive read!
This book had me laughing all the way through. She can’t help but get herself in all kinds of ridiculous situations!
4. One perfect Christmas – Paige Toon*
This is a collection of short stories. It was a really nice read because it was just enough before bed. A quick and fun read.
5. Wrapped up in you – Carole Matthews*
I really enjoyed this book. We follow single Janie on a trip to Africa where she meets a man, Of course! Christmas romance at it’s best though.
6. Christmas promises at the little wedding shop – Jane Linfoot*
Oh would you look at that… Another Christmas wedding book. It could be classed as torture but I really enjoyed this. I don’t think I could have read this if I was still getting married this year. It had moments that any bridezilla could relate to and too close to your wedding might tip you over the edge.
7. An Island Christmas – Jenny Colgan*
I love Jenny Colgan books and this was no exception. Christmas on an island, pregnant Flora has a big surprise for her ex-boss. This story really pulled at my heart strings but there was still a lovely Christmas feel about it.
8. Snowflakes on Christmas Street – Ivy Pembroke*
I had to return to Christmas street this year. I probably should have read this one first though! We see Sam and Teddy move to the most perfect street in the world. The move is referenced in the wedding on Christmas street book so it was great to get some perspective.
This is such a feel good story and as a big fan of kindness, it was perfect for me.
9. The Christmas Holiday – Sophie Claire*
A will they/won’t they Christmas romance here. Both Jake and Evie were characters I could relate to. Watching the dynamics of their friendship change while trying to escape Christmas made for a great read.
10. Just for Christmas – Scarlett Bailey*
I think I liked this one so much because it had a feel of the Holiday about it and that’s my favourite.
A good old Christmas romance with a bit of Cornwall charm thrown in!

I absolutely love Christmas fiction too. I haven’t read any of these yet though so I definitely need to get them ready for next Christmas. I’m a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella books too.
I love nothing more than a festive read on the run up to Christmas. I read one last year that was about a family that needed a huge operation, it was so moving!

As soon as I saw the cover of your first choice, The Cosy Christmas Chocolate Shop, I realised I recognised it – I think I was given it last year but for some reason never got around to reading it. Sounds like I need to rectify that ASAP – chocolate and Christmas, what’s not to love? x

I haven’t heard of any of these but I do love Carole Matthews, might have to add that to my reading list!
I never even stopped to think there were adult Christmas themed books before. The chocolate shop one sounds good to me. I’m a chocoholic!!!!

I’ve read the one perfect Christmas collection of short stories which I really enjoyed. I have a few Christmas books but I end up forgetting about them and only remembering after Christmas, oops x

This is a great book list! I’ve seen A Wedding on Christmas Street on a few other book lists so it must be a good read!
I haven’t read any of these books, but they sound festive! Right now I’m reading My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories!
A good festive read sounds ideal to me. I cannot wait to finish work and put my feet up with a good book
These books so seem interesting and it’s the right type of books for the season.

I haven’t read any of these, I’m sorry! I’m not typically a Christmas book kind of person but occasionally one comes along that I’m completely pulled into. Although I’m probably more likely to read something about Krampus xD
