Now is the perfect time to share these self discovery journal prompts.
Let’s just say that I have been doing some self discovery of my own this last month. Self isolation is certainly offering plenty of time to focus on our own thoughts.
Why is self discovery important?
Firstly, I guess I should talk about what self discovery actually is.
Self Discovery
the process of acquiring insight into one’s own character
Oxford Dictionaries
Simple right? We do assume though that we know all there is to know about ourselves, but do we really.
As I mentioned earlier, this last month has been one of self discovery. I feel like I had become so disconnected with who Claire was that I really needed to take some time to re-establish that connection to me again.
It has been hugely important because it has allowed me to look at all aspects of my life and what is the most important to me.
This is why I recommend it so highly. If you need an oppurtunity to refocus and reflect, these prompts will be perfect. It will remind you of your goals, your talents and passions and what is important to us.
I won’t tell you it’s an easy thing to do, which is why I wanted to put together some journal prompts together. You’ll know how I feel about journaling and it’s importance if you’ve read my other journal prompt posts.
By making a small amount of time to look at self discovery, the task won’t seem so overwhleming and having a prompt for this will help.

I always enjoy your journal prompt posts. They give me some great ideas and inspire me to continue writing for the sake of writing. I’m going to start this 31 day one from today!
These are definitely some tricky questions to think about! Iβm hopeless at self reflection and discovery but have been considering taking up journaling for a while! I will have to start with these ones!
These are amazing prompts. This is a great time for all of us to do a little bit of self discovery x
Great cohesive list!
Love these journal prompts! I haven’t done any scribbling in a long time and I probably should. It always helps clear my mind and focus. These are excellent prompts to get back in the habit!
This is a lovely challenge and I’ve pinned it for later – I think this is such a good time to do a little bit of self discovery so I will certainly be doing this challenge at some point soon! Thanks for sharing π x
There are some amazing prompts in here, very thought provoking, thank you for sharing I will have to explore these and spend a bit of time discovering myself
I don’t keep a journal but I’m loving these prompts, they’re so useful. I think self-discovery is often confused with navel-gazing, but taking a good look at ourselves and really drilling down into what makes us tick is often the only way we can move forward. And moving forwards is something we all aspire to, I believe, never more so than right now. Thank you, Claire, very helpful, Lisa x
Thank you Lisa x x
I am loving the prompts, I do also think that as we grow older we realise things about ourselves we had never considered before
Some lovely prompts and what a great idea to grab your journal and fill it with positives! I’ve certainly found I am tougher than even I expected and that the right way to start the day is with a good brew! π x
Awesome prompts! I love them all, thanks for sharing.
It is always good to have ideas of prompts – I often find myself without an idea of what to write so it is great to have a few ideas on hand.
I don’t know when I actually started it but I have been on a self-discovery journey trying to reacquaint myself with me and who I think I am.
Aw I love journaling – I don’t do it so much anymore but I used to back in the day and it was almost like a little therapy session haha
I think as I’m getting older (at the ripe age of 26..) I accept changes in taste etc and discover other things about myself that I didnt think would be ‘me’.
This is such a wonderful list, I have pinned it so I can have it to look back on π
Some brilliant prompts. I am trying to find myself again so might just have to use some of these prompts to help me.
These prompts are so helpful! I don’t journal but I do like to keep a track of my thoughts and feelings. Maybe I shall invest in a cute journal and start doing this self-discovery challenge! I bet it would be very helpful. Thanks for sharing

All great prompts. It is so important that we take the time to think about who we really are as people and figure out what we want out of life.
I do write in my journal every few days once and sometimes I face a mental block on what to write when it comes to reflection and self discovery so these prompts will come in handy
I like the idea of thinking about 5 things that you would like to do more often – it makes you think about what you enjoy and priories it1
With more people than ever journalling their way through the Lockdown this is a great resource of prompts to help assess thoughts and feelings.
