Journal Lockdown

40 Self isolation journal prompts

With us all finding we have a little bit more time on our hands currently, it could be the perfect time to begin a journal with these 40 self isolation journal prompts.

If you’ve been around a while, you’ll know that I love to journal. Any opportunity to journal works for me, my list prompts remain amongst my favourite ones.

Journaling through Corona

We are living through a period of history in the making right now. The time that the world stopped will be talked about for generations. Not in our lifetime have we experienced something on such a huge scale that has touched everyone.

By writing about it, we are documenting this time forever. I’d like to think that once this time is over, life will return to normality fairly quickly. But I think it is really important to remember as much about it as possible.

We will of course remember the basic’s but are we likely to hold on to the small details, remember the time line and how we felt about it. I know for me, how I feel about the whole situation changes on a daily, sometimes hourly basis!

Personally, I want to remember the time where we all slowed down, learnt what was really important to us and how we lived through something so unprecedented, we never saw it coming.

  5. Oh these are really good ideas, I haven’t been keeping a journal as such as I am in the middle of a first draft and all my writing time is going in to that but I think if this all goes on much longer I will have to start as it would be interesting to look back on it all.

  6. Johnny says:

The best thing to come out of self-isolating is the things I’ve been doing with my nephews. Been doing a lot with them from teaching them, baking with them to exercising together.

As for life after the pandemic I disagree slightly with things going back to normal because in my opinion whilst shops and businesses will open their doors – social distancing habits and behaviours may still be within people just to be on the cautious side (at least initially), businesses would have lost a lot of money so opening hours may be different and people may value their health differently to before. Those are just a few examples. Generally I think they’ll be a new “normal” in place.

    1. clairelomax2018 says:

I think this is most definitely going to become the new normal. I am amazed how quickly it already feels fairly ‘normal’ I am almost worried about going back to work and back to reality.

I am interested to see where we will be in 6 months time and what it will look like. I just hope that my oversea’s relatives will still be able to make it to the wedding, it would break my heart to be without them.

Take care Johnny Boy and enjoy your nephews, they will certainly be helping to make the days fly by x

  7. Valerie says:

I guess you already realized that sometimes just speaking out definitely helps unload the burden, and for some, it can be writing.

I won’t lie, that I got plenty of ideas to write on my blog, lol.

no problem, Thank you for reading. I hope they help x

  62. Since 17 March 2020, I’ve been doing a Lock-down Tweet series. One tweet a day highlighting something about my time during the pandemic. After 60 days, I moved it to a Partial Lock-down series. On day 17 of that. Your list is super helpful – it gives me ideas for each of my tweets. All of us who can should write down little things about these exceptional times. 10 years later, I want to return to my tweets, read them & pat myself on the back that I got through this. Didn’t just survive, I thrived!

    1. clairelomax2018 says:

That is such a good idea. I am just starting a scrapbook of all the things we did during lockdown at home as a family. I am making notes in there about how we felt etc too as I think it’ll be really valuable to look back on x x

      1. Thank you! I love scrapbooks but I wish I’d even one bone of art/ creativity inside me 🙁 It’s so important to write down what we’re feeling. How we feel right now will perhaps determine our mental health for a long time to come. Good on you!

Do share the scrapbook, if not too personal…
