Sunshine Blogger Award

A big thank you

A massive thank you to Kimmie from All in with Kimmie L for my nomination for Sunshine blogger award. The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award for bloggers by bloggers as a means of showcasing and supporting fellow bloggers.
I really love these awards and I’m always blown away when nominated for any kind of blog award. It just confirms what a lovely community the blogging world is.
Plus it’s always a great way to check out other blogs that you may not have seen before!

Kimmie’s questions

1.What is number one on your Bucket List?
It has to be New York, specifically Christmas in New York. That has been at the top of my bucket list since I first saw Home Alone 2 many many years ago! It is such an iconic place that has so much to see and do, I want to see it all. It honestly gives me butterflies just thinking about it!
2.Why did you start blogging?
I began my blog really to find a reason to write. I have always loved writing but never felt I had anything of interest to say. When I moved in with Rob and his 2 daughters, it seemed like the ideal time to document our lives together. The high’s and lows, although mainly the highs and a bit of a humorous look at the harder parts. I loved writing and sharing this with people.
When Mum passed away in August last year it became a place where I could really open up and share my experiences. Now my blog combines both of these subjects and although massively different, I do feel that the response it good despite the lack of ‘Niche’
3. What is your dream Car?
Oh I am not sure I really want to share what it is!! Do i have to?
OK OK… I’ll tell you! I really really want a black Range rover. I am so far from the sort of person that would ever drive one, but I just think they look so beautiful! Although the Fiat 500 is pretty cute and probably more achievable, I just don’t feel that it would have the umph I want!
4.If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be and why?
No brainer, New Zealand! To see my Auntie C
5.What is your favourite holiday and why?
I don’t think I can pick one. Disneyland Paris is way up there because well…it’s Disney! I love Portugal because it is beautiful and I have family there but I have loved so many holidays in the UK so that has to be right up the top.
6.If you could sit down with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
I’d love to sit down and have a cup of tea with the Queen. I absolutely love her and I just feel like we’d be best friends, I honestly think we could be if she’d just stop setting security on me!
Seriously though, I think she is very inspiring and I’d love to hear from her how it really feels to be Queen.
7.What is your favourite motto or quote?
I loved the quote from the Cinderella remake instantly. ‘Have Courage and be Kind’ I think it is so simple but the message is so strong. Maybe all we need in life is these two things, Courage and to show kindness. I think we would all go a long way with both of these traits.

8.Are you a dog person, cat person or something else?
I own a cat, but don’t be fooled in to thinking that makes me a cat person. I might be a cat person if it wasn’t for the fact I am allergic to them! As long as I feed Morphy twice a day he tends to leave me alone, so we muddle along.
Given a choice I’d be a dog person but Rob would never really get on board, plus I love that at any time we can ask the neighbour to watch the cat while we go away for the night without the expense of a kennel.
9.Best gift ever received?
I think, although technically not a gift, it has to be my engagement ring as Rob proposed on my Birthday.
10.What is one thing you would like to learn to do?
I think I’d like to learn to crochet. My Mum did it all the time and was so talented. I’d love to follow in her footsteps.
11.What is one little known fact about you?
I am a pretty open book so I honestly can’t think of anything!
