Wow I have been nominated for the Liebster blogger award tag thanks to Rachael!
I love the blogging awards that are doing the rounds. I honestly think it means so much to receive a nomination from a fellow blogger. It means that in some way you’ve made an impression. We all read so many blogs a day I’m sure, so when someone tags you in a post like this, it really feels special.
Rachael informs me (thanks to her post Rachael’s Liebster post) that Liebster is a German word which means a sweet kind person, darling, beloved, dear, lovely, valued, endearing, favourite and sweetheart! The award focuses on newer bloggers.
Rachael’s blog started for much the same reason as I began to take mine more seriously. A place to write about her Late Mum. I love the idea of her sharing a cuppa with her Mum

Questions from Tea with Mum
Here are the questions that Rachael asked of me and my answers.
1.What’s currently sitting in top place on your bucket list?
I wrote a summer bucket list this year for the first time, you can read it here Our Summer Bucket List, it has been so much fun. I have loved coming up with a list of things to do and working our way through it. With Summer beginning to fade the one thing that I still really want to fit in is a trip to Cotswold wildlife park. I have been several times but it is by far one of the best I’ve visited. A trip will be on the cards over the next few weeks.
2. What do you wish you could do, but haven’t yet mastered?
Oh this is a tough one, there are so many things that I would love to be able to do but I have a lack of time to master them. I am struggling to balance life and my blog at the moment but I really want to make my blog a success. I have a lot to learn and I am going to work hard until I know as much as my brain can fit in!
3. It’s nearly your birthday. What cake or gift are you making for yourself?
Yum cake! I can’t bake to save my life but if I could it would be a big old rainbow cake with lots of frosting! So with my lack of baking skills I think i’ll give myself the gift of a day off, plenty of self care and rest and relaxation.
4. If you were gifted a round-the-world trip and spending money, what three places would definitely be on your itinerary
Holland, New Zealand and New York. I want to see it all but I will start here for now. There are so many wonderful places to see in the world that you could ask me this question daily and I would constantly change my mind.
5. What blog post are you most proud of and why?
I write so many posts that never see the light of day, which I guess means that everything I do publish is something I am proud of. That said, I think the posts that seem to resonate with people most are the ones I am proud of.
When I wrote A journey from Cancer to saying goodbye, it was before my blog had a real following.
I shared the post on facebook with my friends and the response was overwhelming. It doesn’t seem to have translated in to the blogging world as much, that may be because it doesn’t fit the blog post criteria or because it is a long one or maybe I haven’t shared it enough, who knows.
But when I read it, I feel immensely proud of it. It was honest and from the heart and on a topic that means so much to me. It was also a turning point for me in terms of my processing my grief a little better, as if writing the journey down made it make sense to me. I had spent so long in complete denial about what had happened and it all took place in such a short space of time, I needed to see it all written down to process it I think.
Since then I have written about Mum and my grief a lot and it continues to help me and many others it would seem.
Questions for my Nominees
This is the hard bit, I love reading personal stuff from the bloggers I enjoy and there is so much I want to know about them! I think this has definitely been the part of the post that has taken the most thought!
- What drew you to blogging?
- When it comes to your TV, Film and reading choices, If you could only enjoy one genre forever what would it be and why?
- What date holds the most significance for you and why?
- Which blogger would you recommend to me, sell them to me?
- What is your favourite post of your own?
My nominees

When I said that the questions were the hardest thing to write, I was wrong. Because this is actually the hardest part. I follow so many amazing bloggers and a lot of them are well established and are far from ‘new blogger’ status. I have decided that old and new deserve to be celebrated so I am going to pick 5 of my absolute favourites.
Nyxie’s Nook
Chloe was probably one of the first blog’s I followed. Her approach to her own recovery and mental health is inspiring. I have learnt so much about her, the topics she covers and also about myself from reading her posts. Her passion for championing mental health awareness pushes her on and I love watching her grow.
Plus Willow Wednesdays make me smile.
Ellie’s London
The blog tag line is ‘Just thinking out loud here’ and I think that resonates with me so much because sometimes I feel I am doing just that, and I love it!
Ellie’s blog is just so full of lovely things, wonderful experiences she has had, the places she has visited and everything in between. I love the mix that Ellie has on her blog and I can see a lot of similarity between our choice of blog posts.
Plus her food posts….. YUM!
Writing the blues away
I think Chloe and I bonded over a mutual love of Game of Thrones. One of my favourite post by Chloe is on just that subject, reading it was like making sense of all the things my brain had been thinking while I watched it. And it seemed there were only a few GOT fans in the blogging world, we’ve got to stick together.
I love reading about Chloe’s writing journey, it inspires me to write more. Seeing her updates on her novel, its so exciting. I just know it’ll be amazing.
Irish Twins Momma
When I first came across Ashley and her blog, I had NO idea that she was not just a Irish Mum to twins, when I found out the true meaning behind her blog title, I won’t lie and say it blew my mind a little, Now if you want to find out the reason behind the name, you’ll have to go and have a read here, unless of course you’re much smarter and wiser than me!
Ashley is not only a real supporter of other bloggers which I love, but her posts are brilliant! I love her crafty idea’s and her posts were MADE for pinterest.
Jenny in Neverland
Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. What can I say that I probably haven’t already? She knows she is my blogspiration! But let me tell you why.
Jenny’s was the first blog that I read that I was able to get totally lost in. I’ve spent hours reading posts from as far back as I could go. I felt like I was snooping, terrified I might click like on a post from 4 years ago and get caught stalking!
Jenny posts about a huge range of lifestyle topic’s but its her advice to other bloggers which is what made the blogging dream seem more like a reality to me and without a hint of ‘How I made 6 trillion dollars 2 hours after my blog went live’ and she knows how much I dislike those kind of posts.
To all of my fellow Liebster Award Nominees: Good Luck and thank you for being amazing!

Congratulations xx
