Journal prompts to reflect on 2020, a year full of crazy!

I am back with some Journal prompts to reflect on 2020, a year that was full of crazy! And hasn’t it been utter madness. But for that reason I think it is important to look back and record this time. I did the same last year so it makes even more sense to do it for 2020.

I talked about the importance of recording this historic time before. It’s been a time where life felt completely upside down. Therefore writing about it really helped me to make sense of it.

Benefits of keeping a journal

Keeping a journal can be so valuable. I will often look back through my many journals and it offers some happiness and is actually one of my favourite things to do. Often I will work through journal prompts again, it is really interesting to see how your answer change over time.

Quite often, difficult times will become a distant memory once we’ve come out the other side. It doesn’t mean it should be forgotten. These difficult times help us to grow, they are a part of our history.

This year in particular, was one where we all experienced the same event. Of course we all have our own version of Coronavirus, therefore we will have dealt with it very differently, but this was a global event. This for me is even more reason to document it.

Goodbye 2020

Let’s be real for a minute, 2021 doesn’t mean that things will change overnight. Far from it I am sure. But I want to walk in to 2021 with a clear and positive focus.

Time to put this year to bed, well and truly. No matter what the year ahead has to hold for us all, I can assure you better times WILL come, even if we have to wait a little longer than we’d hope.

Which is why I’ve already made a start on my journal prompts. I want to complete them before the ball drops to mark the start of 2021. I want to leave as much as possible of 2020 behind me. Although, as I’ve said I want a reminder of this mad time. But one that leaves me with a fresh start come the 1st January.

Have you found Journal prompts a helpful tool for this year? Or would it be something you’d like to get in to for 2021?
